We are looking for an experienced Business Controller to act as a bridge between a controller who is retiring and a new controller to be recruited in a newly acquired company. Great opportunity to influence the local Danish operation as well as the Nordic organization in a transition period.

The Company
Our customer is an international company which has recently acquired a Danish specialized operation from a large Danish state-owned company. The Danish operation will now be incorporated in the company’s international operations. In Copenhagen, one of the present two Business Controllers is retiring and it is expected that it may take some time to recruit and mobilize a replacement. To bridge this gap and contribute to the integration process it has been decided to engage an Interim Senior Business Controller.

The Project
The Senior Business Controller will work closely with the Nordic operations and provide internal support to stakeholders in the management of the business while reporting to the HQ in Germany. This means that the interim manager will work with budgets, forecasts, analyses and follow revenues and costs together with stakeholders and be a natural part of strategic planning and business management. The controller will work closely with the Danish business and become involved in business development and be supportive in various projects and analyze the large customer accounts to ensure profitability.

The role also includes being the key-user for the SAP system’s finance module, but also developing and implementing new systems to ensure a proactive controlling function. The controller will work closely with the CFO in developing processes that support reporting and accounting and being a business partner (or right hand) to the divisions managing director.

The main tasks will be:

  • Monthly reporting to Group and to functional managers/Business Units
  • Budget and forecasting and follow-up
  • Process and system development
  • Support the business in projects and analyses

The Candidate
We are looking for an experienced Business Controller with documented good results from management of similar assignments. The right candidate must fully understand the challenges and complexities involved and have a pragmatic approach and be ready to work hands-on:

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience from working as Business Controller
  • Experience from manufacturing and/or service companies.
  • Experience from working in international companies.
  • Strong accountancy and finance management skills with a good toolbox.
  • Experience with management reporting to local management as well as to corporate headquarters.
  • Experience with developing and implementing efficient processes and procedures within finance management.
  • Good general IT competencies – in particular strong Excel competences and experience. Experience with ERP systems (SAP)

Fluent English, verbally as well as written.

Duration: 6 months with possible extension
