The Company

Our customer is a large international industrial group which has subsidiaries in several countries, including Denmark. Founded in Switzerland more than 70 years ago and has today more than 5000 employees and a turnover well above 700 M. EUR.

The business unit in Denmark employs approx. 450 headcounts and the largest factory within the business unit is located in Denmark.

The company is facing an ERP upgrade starting in June and due to resources assigned to the project the finance department needs an Interim Business Controller to support with several operational tasks during the project period.

The Assignment

The assignment includes the following accountabilities:

Individual accountabilities

  • Lead and prepare Budget and Forecast process
  • Monthly end reporting incl preparation
  • Quality checking of monthly reporting
  • Follow-up on budget and forecast including deep dive on deviations on COGS
  • Monthly capex follow-up & reporting
  • Income and cost analysis
  • Standard costing
  • Participation in projects related to operations
  • Support on Business cases
  • Drafting and implementing guidelines and internal controls

Shared accountabilities

  • Month-end procedures, including accruals, budget, forecast

Key linkages & interfaces / most important stakeholders

  • Finance, Operations, R&D

The Business Controller will report to the Finance Director in DK.

The Candidate

The candidate must have an educational background as HD(R) or Cand. merc. with at least 5 years’ experience from a similar position.

  • Self-driven
  • Relates critically to information and seeks explanations and knowledge and is demanding when needed
  • Good analytical skills and business acumen
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, Danish and English
  • Broad experience with different IT systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with cross-border working & relationship
  • Can keep track of tasks and deadlines even if it is busy environment
  • Team player

To succeed in the position, the candidate must:

  • Work independently and take leadership for own tasks
  • Comply with deadlines
  • Ensure clear communication of progress an issues, share information, and follow-up on open topics

Starting date: As soon as possible
Duration: 6 months with possible extension
Location: East Jutland. After a start-up period, it may be possible to work from home up to 2 days/week
